I. OBJECTIVE

1. To specify the grounds in which ATD is used internally

 

II. DEFINITION OF TERMS

1. Authority to Deduct – also known as “ATD”, a medium used to let the personnel to be deducted acknowledging the fact. This enables immediate closure of a situation that involves deduction

2. Authority to Deduct (ATD) Slip – the medium used to let the personnel to be deducted acknowledging the fact

III. GENERAL POLICIES

Authority to Deduct (ATD) is issued given any of the following instances:

1. When an employee’s negligence allows him/her to break a policy that comes with penalty or fine.
Examples:
• Habitual tardiness
• Not wearing of company ID
• Not wearing of prescribed uniform during weekdays
• Not wearing of proper attire during Saturdays or working holidays

2. When an employee fails to observe his accountability* that comes with penalty or fine.
Examples:
• Extra charges in the monthly load bill
• Loss of company phone or SIM
• Breakage of calculator
• Wrong print of cheque

3. When an employee’s action causes the company any kind of loss or conflict.
Examples:
• Wrong purchase of item
• Late submission of document
• Receiving of damaged or rejected item
• Late payment of dues

4. When an employee makes purchases that is deductible by salary.
Examples:
• Requisition of uniform
• Purchase of certain company goods or products

The issuer of ATD must secure signature of the person being issued with ATD to prove acknowledgement of the deduction.

*Note: Offices supplies and other company-issued items are subject to wear and tear, means that if the item becomes unusable due to being worn out or exhausted, it shall not be charged to the employee.
